Tip for those who have a Google G-Suite account

If you have a Google G-Suite subscription and Google Drive takes a while to sync files, the tip is to install Google File Stream. With it, your computer will understand the google drive as a disk drive and with that it will synchronize much faster without those Google Drive delays. Installation is very simple:

Install Google File Stream:

Windows: https://dl.google.com/drive-file-stream/GoogleDriveFSSetup.exe

Mac: https://dl.google.com/drive-file-stream/GoogleDriveFileStream.dmg

Confirm that Drive File Stream will work in your organization. You can use Drive File Stream on these operating systems:

Windows: Windows 7 and above. Windows Server 2012 and above.

Mac: El Capitan (10.11) and higher. For High Sierra (10.13) or newer, follow these steps.

For the best user experience, we recommend that you update your computer to the latest operating system version. Also confirm that you are using a supported browser.

Enable syncing for your organization if you haven’t already. Enable Drive File Stream and specify whether users can see download links for this resource.

(Optional) On the same Admin Console page where you enabled syncing, check Allow Drive File Stream on authorized devices only (Beta) This restricts Drive File Stream access to only devices managed by your organization.

(Optional) On the same page in the Admin Console, check Allow users to enable real-time presence in Microsoft Office from Drive File Stream. With this option enabled, users can see when someone is editing shared Microsoft Office files and avoid editing conflicts.

Important: This is a Google product that activates only for those who have a G-Suite account. Does NOT work on free accounts.
